Why Are We Making Our Job More Difficult Than It Has To Be?

The more I work with clients, the more I realize everyone is over complicating things. Our business is not Rocket Science. Actually, our business is quite simple. As Martial Arts Business owners, our duties are simple. They are recruit, enroll, and upgrade.

That's it!

Nothing more, nothing less.

So, why all the fuss?

Simple. Habit!

Man is a creature of habit and I don't know about you, but most people DON'T like change. People like their routines and don't want their world flipped around.

So, what happens?

Owners get caught up in "traditional" business methods.

What does traditional mean? It's doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Oh, I'm sorry, that's the definition of insanity!

We get caught up doing the "busy stuff." You know, the stuff that doesn't make us a single penny.
Things like-

• Spending hours on the computer surfing the net or sending emails.
• Worrying why business isn't good.
• Thinking that a Martial Artist should be poor!
• Thinking about what our competitors are doing.
• Thinking we need more time.
• Telling ourselves that our area can't support our tuition rates or any increases.
• Hiring the wrong people. Trying to turn ducks into eagles!
• Setting unrealistic goals or not having an action plan to carry out our goals.
• Thinking that because we're up early or are early to work that we ARE being productive.
• PROCRASTINATION!

Most of the above has to do with mindset.
So, what's the solution?

Focus.
Over the years, I've discovered that owners have what I like to call "Business Dyslexia."
We kind of see things backwards and as a result have backwards outcomes.

Here's one I've been guilty of...

Opening schools without a systematized Staff Development Program.

What could be crazier or more dyslexic than that??

As I mentioned earlier, we need to focus.

Focus on the duties that are going to make us money.

Now, I know some of you may be thinking- Larrea's all about the money.

You're right!

My definition of being in business is

To render services or products for profit.

If I'm not making a profit, it's called having a charity and I'm not in that business.

So, our focus has to be on making a profit and that's where EFC comes in.

EFC has produced more "Martial Art" millionaires than all the other firms combined.

Names like Hafner, Doyon, Godwin, Kovar, Faust come to mind.

How does EFC do it?

Bedrock Principles...

EFC has systems that will insure your success IF you'll only use them.

Systems are the "magic" pill.
