Forgetting the Birthday Card, Yet Again

So...here it is a year later and lo and behold...time for yet another birthday. Gosh - they sure do seem to come around all too often these days! I shared the fun of last year's birthday with you, so had to share a chuckle this year, too.

Since one of an organizer's many mantras is "Reuse, recycle, repurpose" etc., I thought you'd get a kick out of my hubby's extreme use of the phrase.

Last year Jim was up at 6AM, heading off to the grocery store to buy a card for me - as if the planning of my birthday hadn't been apparent with a visit from dear friends, concert tickets, dinner reservations and on and on. Seems he was caught unaware yet again this year, although after years of hotel postcards and whatever's around, I'm always duly prepared for some last-minute fun!

We had already planned just to have a nice breakfast out, get the plants needed for this year's hanging baskets and spend a nice, quiet day at home. So, I'd had my morning coffee and my stomach was growling to "get going!" Where's Jim and what's he up to?

He's hiding in the master bathroom, "creating!" It's absolutely amazing what can be made from dental floss, paper from a scratch pad, the foil packet from his retainer dental soak (yes, we're still young enough to wear those!) and even some creative theft from the advertising on the paper itself. I only wish I could show it to you!

I've got to admit - it's one of the best cards I've ever received - even if breakfast had been delayed by about an hour! So, "A" for effort, dear husband - better late than not at all, right?
Mantra or not: keep the creative juices flowing and who knows what organizing project solutions you can come up with!
