When we perform a good deed it makes us feel like a better
person. I believe that there are much more selfish people in life
instead of compassionate people. When we see people do a good deed we
think and say "wow that was nice" we recognize their actions. Do we
really tell people what we think when someone does something rude? Or do
we ignore that it happened?
Everyone has gossiped about someone else at some point in their life. It doesn't make me feel very good to gossip about someone especially if the person finds out what you said. If you find yourself almost about to say something bad about someone why not try to find something positive to say about that person instead. When you say good things about others to others, they will say good things about you and what a positive person you are. Try complimenting people if you think something nice about a person.
There are so many less fortunate people in the world especially with the cost of living increasing. If you have the extra money why not buy a burger or a sandwich for someone who looks hungry. I would never give them money as they might spend it on drugs or alcohol if they have a problem.
My mother and I went grocery shopping one day and she bought a nice already made salad and sandwich and gave it to a man who was asking for change in the parking lot. I thought it was so kind and I never forgot that. My sister used to buy backpacks and stuff them with a blanket, a toothbrush, toothpaste, some snacks, some water just little things she could think of and she handed them out to homeless people. My co-worker used to do a coffee run for all of the employees and she would let people who only were purchasing one coffee go in front of her. The problem is when do you stop letting people in because the line up would never stop and everyone was basically only buying one coffee. I wonder if she just didn't want to go back to work.
I was driving behind someone the other day and they threw out garbage from their window and it hit my windshield. I was angry so I honked my horn at them. I sure do not want to live in a dump but apparently those people do. Once a month we could all take some time and clean up our city.
My friends and I used to honk, smile and wave out of the car window at people who looked lonely while they were walking down the street. We loved seeing their faces light up and them smile back and wave at us.
Think about other people's feelings instead of yourself. The world is full of selfish people let's try to change it to selfless people. When I do something good for other people it makes me feel good about myself. Money doesn't buy happiness but helping others does. Do a good deed today & please share your stories with me.
